Spicy Burger with Newks Smokey Chipotle Sauce

IMG_4493.JPG

Newks is an all-natural sauce company based in Portland, OR and recently they hooked me up with two of their sauces - Smokey Chipotle and Hot Pepper. I love trying new hot sauces (no, really?) so needless to say, it didn’t take me long to dive in. I’m saving the Hot Pepper for a video review, but I happened to have burgers on the menu for the evening and a Smokey Chipotle sauce seemed like the perfect accompaniment.

I love burgers (burger haters are not to be trusted) and I was dreaming of all of the topping possibilities. Lettuce and tomato seemed too basic so I made a tangy and sweet cabbage slaw with a dressing of mayo, honey, lemon juice with S&P. I combined two parts mayo (Duke’s to be exact) with one part Newks Smokey Chipotle to make a delectable burger/dipping sauce. I pan-fried my burgers on a hot cast iron, adorned them with pickled jalapeños and pepper jack and changed into my elastic waist pants.

This burger was the spicy burger of my dreams. The crisp, tangy and sweet slaw contrasted nicely with the spice of the jalapeños, pepper jack and chipotle sauce. I’ll definitely try out Newks Smokey Chipotle Sauce on all of my favorite dishes.
