I’ll admit that a margarita is never my go-to drink. I’d rather have a champagne cocktail (thanks captain obvious) or a glass of vino. But sometimes, sometimes nothing hits the spot more like a strong marg with a hint of spice. I added a sweet and spicy rim to this marg with Pico Limón, a Mexican chile lime seasoning and equal parts salt and sugar. Recipe is below.

Yield: makes one drink but easily double-able :)

Ingredients

1.5 ounces silver tequila

1 ounce Grand Marnier (triple sec or Cointreau also work well)

0.5 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice

Rim is 2:2:1 of salt, sugar and Pico Limón

Dip glass into water (or lime juice) and then into rim mixture to coat; add ice half-way. Shake together tequila, Grand Marnier and lime juice in shaker with ice until well combined and cold. Strain into glass and enjoy!
